Mixed-use projects are some of Mac’s favorites. Why? Because of the variety and the challenge. You have residential, retail, restaurants, office, and hotels all on one project with their own unique needs and design guidelines. A seller and a doer with a focus on client management, mentoring, and typical engineering stuff, Mac calls on his 42 years of experience to deliver good, reliable information time and time again to his clients.
In Trinity Groves—located in an old part of West Dallas—Mac put his skills to work developing a major mixed-use rejuvenation. Combining new construction with the reuse of old buildings, Trinity Groves now has over 10,000 restaurant goers and music seekers on any given weekend as well as live/work spaces, new office buildings, an imminent hotel, and 600 units of multi-family residential.
Although—for Mac’s money—Joe T’s in Fort Worth is the best place around to get a margarita and some Mexican food, he’s happy to make an exception and go elsewhere when required. Mac plays the guitar, has been married to his wife Laurie for 46 years, has a young grandson named Harrison, and has been a Dallas Cowboys fan since 1966.
